    Sessions are 30 minutes; divided into 25 minutes of direct intervention and 5 minutes allotted to conduct administrative obligations (scheduling, note-taking) and post treatment review.

    This is determined by need. Most young clients show good results with 2 or more visits weekly whereas older self-directed clients may visit just once a week with assignments to be completed frequently at home. For maximum carry-over of skills from the treatment room to real life communication, frequency and quality of practice is more significant than duration of study.

    How long will I need speech therapy?

    This is determined by need. For most clients, we ask for six months of treatment. At that point, there may be no need for additional services or new goals (taking progress into account) will be necessary. The luxury of treatment in the private practice setting allows us to adjust goals at any point and end service due to progress at any point.

  • What should I expect for the initial evaluation?

    What should I expect for the initial evaluation?

    Please fill out the new patient paperwork ahead of time or plan to come to your first 15 to 20 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. The session will begin with an interview to choose testing instruments followed by evaluation administration. This usually takes about one hour but an additional session may be scheduled if needed.
